Standards

Without strong standards, technology would not have developed to where it is today. Standards ensure that products integrate nicely with each other and accomplish what they are designed to do without causing problems. CyberNet Solutions works hard to stay current with the rapidly-evolving nature of technology.

Curious about some of the standards the industry uses to make sure things work? Education is the key to making the most of what technology has to offer, and we invite you to become familiar with the standards that will improve your home or business. Below are some of the most common technology standards that we consider on a daily basis.

Ethernet is the term for a broad category of networking technologies that are used in just about every modern technology system we support. CAT5e cable to support an ethernet network is often the cornerstone of a technology project.

WIFI is, loosely, a "wireless version" of Ethernet standards for communications technology. It is very common for use in networks by laptop computers as well as many other technology devices.

Zigbee is a smaller, simpler wireless communication standard used mainly in our Control4 offerings such as buttons, light switches, outlet controllers, and small control panels. The devices all communicate with each other and form a "self-organizing" network for simple, reliable, secure communication.

TIA 570 is a residential cabling standard published by Telecommunications Industry Association. It provides details about methods for wiring to ensure that everything we do performs as it should. Specifically, it provides a set of test procedures to verify that every wire we pull conforms to applicable standards and performs properly. This means fewer headaches for you and a structured wiring system that will ultimately be more reliable in the long run.
